Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is a continuation of the awesome Dungeon Crawl, a modern roguelike game inspired by classics like Moria and NetHack.
In this game, just like in the original Dungeon Crawl, you'll be able to choose from among lots of different races and classes when you create your character: semi-gods, nagas, magic ogres, orcs, trolls, humans, wood elfs, dwarves. You can choose from a lot of different races and archetypes of different characters.
The biggest difference between Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup and the game that inspired it is that it has a much more accessible interface. You can still control it in the same way as traditional roguelike games, but it also incorporates the full use of the mouse and this lets you carry out some actions in a more intuitive way.
The rest of the aspects of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup are just like you would want them: perfect turn fights, the traditional permanent death of your character, an excellent magic system, an incredible amount of enemies and traps and a simple story line that lets you run through dungeons for hours.
Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup has won a ton of prizes at festivals for roguelike games, and with good reason: it's excellent. At first, it might be a little difficult for those who are new to the genre, but once you understand the basics of the game it will end up being an excellent experience.
